5 factors behind second-hand iPhone buyback prices: condition grade, battery, box, and timing.
How to sell your second-hand iPhone for the best price
Second-hand iPhone buyback prices are not random — they come from 5 factors the shop checks on every device. Knowing them before you sell can lift your price by thousands of baht.
1. Condition grade is the biggest factor
A flawless, mark-free phone (grade A) gets full price. Light hairline marks (grade B) deduct roughly ten-something percent, and visible marks or dents (grade C) deduct far more. Before selling, inspect the phone in good light and grade honestly on the quote page.
2. Battery health below 80% deducts
Find it at Settings > Battery > Battery Health. Below 80% the shop must replace the battery before reselling, so there is a fixed deduction every time. At 85% and up you hold an advantage.
3. Complete box and cable add up
A missing box or cable deducts a little each — together, several hundred. Keeping the box since day one pays off at sale time.
4. Always sign out of iCloud first
No shop can buy a device still signed into iCloud — it cannot be resold. Back up, sign out of your Apple ID, and erase cleanly before your appointment.
5. Remaining warranty is a bonus
A device with more than 6 months of official warranty left earns extra, because the shop can resell it faster and with more confidence.
To sum up: wipe the phone clean, pack the box, check the battery, then check your price in 30 seconds.
